Indian Manga ('we', 'us', or 'our') is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights over it. This policy applies to all users of indianmanga.com and is compliant with the Information Technology Act 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules 2011.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information: (a) Account information — your name, email address, username, profile picture, and bio when you create an account; (b) Creator information — UPI ID and bank account details provided voluntarily for payout purposes; (c) Payment metadata — transaction IDs and order references from Razorpay; we never see or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or net banking credentials; (d) Reading activity — chapters you view, like, bookmark, and comment on; (e) Usage data — IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referral source for analytics and security purposes; (f) Communications — any messages you send us via email.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: (a) Create and manage your account; (b) Process payments and unlock content you have paid for; (c) Calculate and distribute creator earnings; (d) Send transactional emails such as payment confirmations and account notifications; (e) Show creators anonymised aggregate analytics about their manga's performance; (f) Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; (g) Improve and personalise your experience on the platform; (h) Comply with legal obligations. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
4. Sensitive Personal Data
UPI IDs and bank account details provided by creators are classified as sensitive personal data under Indian law. This information is stored securely, used solely for processing payouts, and is never shared with any third party other than our payment processor Razorpay as required to complete transactions.
5. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from logging in or accessing paid content.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data: (a) Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure; (b) Razorpay — payment processing; (c) Oracle Cloud — server hosting. Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and processes your data only as necessary to provide their service to us.
7. What Creators Can See
Creators can see aggregate, anonymised statistics about readers of their manga — such as total reads, likes, and revenue share. Creators cannot see your name, email address, username, or any personally identifying information unless you choose to leave a public comment on their chapter.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate data (such as view counts and earnings records) may be retained for longer periods for accounting and legal compliance purposes. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law.
9. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed authentication tokens, and row-level security on our database. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you via email within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.
10. Children's Privacy
Indian Manga is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@indianmanga.com and we will delete it immediately.
11. Your Rights
You have the right to: (a) Access the personal data we hold about you; (b) Correct inaccurate information from your dashboard settings; (c) Delete your account and all associated data; (d) Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time; (e) Request a copy of your data by emailing support@indianmanga.com. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
12. Links to Other Websites
Our platform may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and, where appropriate, sending an email notification. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
14. Contact & Grievance Officer
For any privacy-related queries, requests, or complaints, please contact our Grievance Officer at support@indianmanga.com. As required under the IT Rules 2011, we will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 30 days.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes relating to this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
